Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about SteamSage.
Is SteamSage really free? ▾
Yes, completely free. We fund development through affiliate commissions — when you buy a game through one of our links, the store pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Do I need an account? ▾
No. The website and the extension both work without any account, login or email.
What stores do you compare? ▾
Steam, Eneba, Kinguin, Instant Gaming, GOG, Humble Bundle, Green Man Gaming, Fanatical, Gamivo, Yuplay, G2A and more — established retailers with buyer protection or first-party publishers.
How fresh are the prices? ▾
Prices refresh every ~2 hours from each store, and every game page shows the all-time low so you can judge whether a discount is genuinely good.
Are third-party Steam keys safe and legal? ▾
Yes, from established resellers. Sites like Eneba, Kinguin and Instant Gaming operate legally, offer buyer protection and process refunds if a key doesn't work. We don't include shady sources.
Does the extension work on Firefox or Edge? ▾
Chrome first; Firefox and Edge are planned shortly after.
Does the overlay block content on Steam? ▾
It's a small card in the bottom-right corner. It doesn't cover product info, screenshots or reviews, and you can dismiss it any time — it stays hidden on that game for 24 hours.
What data does SteamSage collect? ▾
Only the Steam AppID of the page you're viewing (to look up prices) and anonymous aggregate click stats. No account data, no browsing history, no IP tracking. See our privacy policy for details.
Who is behind SteamSage? ▾
SteamSage is built by the team behind KeyPrice, comparing PC game prices since 2023.
Can I request a feature? ▾
Yes — email [email protected] or open an issue on our GitHub. Community requests get priority.
