The big PC releases coming in late 2026 — and where they'll be cheapest

The second half of 2026 is stacked. Here’s what’s confirmed (dates can always move — we’ll keep this updated), what it means for PC players, and the honest answer to “where will it be cheapest at launch”.

The headliners

GTA VI — the elephant in the room

Rockstar’s giant lands on consoles in late 2026 (after its famous delay). No PC version announced yet — and Rockstar’s history (GTA V, RDR2) says PC comes 1-2 years later. PC players: your launch is not this year. When it comes, expect full price to hold for months — GTA V barely discounted for two years.

Fable (Xbox / PC)

Playground Games’ reboot, slated for 2026 on Xbox and PC (Game Pass day one). If you have Game Pass, that’s the obvious “price”: included. Otherwise expect standard €70-80 AAA pricing at launch.

007 First Light (IO Interactive)

The Hitman studio’s Bond game, announced for 2026 across platforms including PC. IOI’s games historically discount within 6 months — patience pays with this studio.

Crimson Desert (Pearl Abyss)

The long-awaited open-world action title, targeting late 2026 after several delays. Korean publishers often launch with regional pricing differences — key stores tend to undercut early here.

Subnautica 2

Early Access on PC is expected in 2026. Early Access = launch price is already the discount; it will only go up toward 1.0.

The annual heavyweights

• Call of Duty 2026 — November, like clockwork. Never discounts at launch; key stores shave 10-20% within weeks.
• EA Sports titles (FC, etc.) — September-October; deep discounts arrive unusually fast (by Black Friday, typically -40%+).

The honest launch-price playbook

New AAA releases follow a pattern worth knowing:

1. Steam launch price is the ceiling — €70-80 for the big ones
2. Key marketplaces undercut at launch by 10-25% — publishers’ regional keys reach stores like Eneba and Instant Gaming from day one
3. The first real discount typically lands 2-4 months post-launch (or Black Friday, whichever comes first)
4. Game Pass / subscriptions beat everything when the game is included day one (Fable, CoD)
